An Appeal (petition for LIRC review) of a decision by an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) in an Unemployment Insurance case may be filed online by using a form at this website.
To file an appeal of an ALJ's decision in an Unemployment Insurance case, read and follow these instructions:
Note: This form may only be used to file an appeal from an ALJ's decision (also known as an Appeal Tribunal Decision) to LIRC in an Unemployment Insurance (UI) case.
This form may not be used to:
- file an appeal from an Initial Determination by the department (DWD) to an ALJ.
- file an appeal from a LIRC Unemployment Insurance decision to court. [If you already have a LIRC decision that you want to appeal, you may NOT use this form to file a further appeal; instead, go to: "How to Appeal a LIRC Unemployment Insurance Decision to Circuit Court."]
- file an appeal from an ALJ's decision in a Worker's Compensation case. To file an appeal of a decision by an ALJ in a
Worker's Compensation case, you may not use this form; instead go to Appeal WC.
- file an appeal from an ALJ's decision in an Equal Rights case. [To file an appeal (petition for LIRC review) of a decision by an ALJ in an Equal Rights case, you may not use this form; instead follow the instructions, as described in the commission's administrative rules.]
Again, this form may only be used to file an appeal from an ALJ's decision to LIRC in a
Unemployment Insurance (UI) case.
